Choose Pleasure over Pain
Whenever I have written about this card in the past, it has usually been around it bringing some form of pain, strife and heartbreak. It is a very dramatic card with three swords piercing a heart.
That meaning is still valid, depending on what other cards are with it in your reading.
I would also like to offer a different perspective.
The sword cards represent things going on in your head, which are thoughts and Mindchatter. They can also be fears and doubts, all of which lead to stress.
The heart represents love, fun and pleasure. It represents your feelings and the physical sensations that you are experiencing.
The swords of the worrying thoughts in your mind are stifling the love and pleasure feelings in your body. You are thinking too much and not feeling enough.
When you want to heal something, one of the best things you can do is to allow the physical feelings around that situation to simple BE in your body. Allow yourself to feel them and experience them, without judging them or yourself.
It is important not to get caught up in the story of what happened, as this requires you to think about it and put your attention on it. When you focus on the pain, you hold it in place.
When you can fully process the feelings, they can be released from your body. This then allows the swords to fall away from the heart and you can focus on love and pleasure.
You cannot have the thoughts of worry and stress running in your head at the same time as experiencing love and pleasure in your body. They have a different energy, so this card gives you the opportunity to choose one or the other.
Choose the pleasure of the heart and the pain of the swords will fall away!
